It’s On So Let’s Go!

Dutch duo Don Alexandro & Rico Morello from the coast town Scheveningen are working their way up in the scene. With a smooth combination of Latin & stylish house music which makes girls go wild they rock the dancefloor every chance they get. A while ago we presented you the first Maricruz mixtape and today we’re back with the sequel and an interview with the boys themselves. As a bonus we have some teasers of tracks they’ve been working on!

The interview

Who Are DA & RM? And how did you end up as a duo?
We’re Don & Rico, both from Scheveningen in The Netherlands. We’ve been friends for 10 years now and have always been into music. When Rico bought a Dj set we both started practicing at home and got better each day. Pretty soon we got some solo gigs but after 6 months we’ve decided to team up and have been together for 2 years now.

In those 2 years, what have you been up to?
Right from the start we’ve been playing in clubs and in these 2 years we’ve been all around the country. Besides that we’ve released some bootlegs and mixtapes like the “Maricruz” series and organised some parties of our own.

Sounds like you’ve been busy, and what are you up to at this moment?
Lately we’ve spent our time at the studio which resulted in some upcoming releases. Offcourse we’ll keep on doing the Maricruz tapes.

Do you have anything else going on next to your spinning & studio work?
We’re training real hard to become the new Backstreet Boys haha. (NOT) Most of our time we try to spend in the studio, quality is a big thing for us and that takes time. Our other big thing is our own Maricruz parties. Negotiations are in progress so keep an eye out!

If you could make a wish how the future would like in 5 years for you, what would it be?
Our dream is to make a living out of spinnin’ & producing. Catch a flight to antoher place every week and get recognition for our work both national as internationally. Offcourse we realise it takes a lot of hard work and time.

It’s not without reason Defected crowned Robaco Bossá as the winner of last years producers contest. This Dutch talent is totally committed to delivering quality. Once again he’s competing in a huge contest hosted by Toolroom Records, Future Music Magazine, Sonic Academy & Beatport. The goal is to make a co-production with house legend Mark Knight! His entry is called “Rolling Dices” and from my point of view it’s definitely one of the best to compete. The sound is mixture of Mark Knight’s techie vibe with Robaco’s fresh aproach on house music. D-wayne, a young and talented dutch producer from the Netherlands, whom is with the age of only 15 years known from performances on 7^th Sunday Festival + Gigadance and a release on SneakerzMuzik, introduces a new concept in which House will be handled as “art with a capital letter”.

This month the show will once again be broadcasted at www.EclecticRadio.nl, from 20:00-23:00 including three stunning mixtapes. The first hour it is for D-wayne to show what House as an art stands for, warm beats with great vibes to warm up the audience, and give an idea of his current favorite tracks combined with old floorfillers.

The second hour of the show will be done by DJ Kriss-One, whom is known from releases at labels such as Samsobeats (Parabomb EP), Made in NL/Spinnin (Bajja/Jizzle EP) and a stunning remix on Steve Aoki’s label DIM MAK on Sandro Silva’s “Told Ya”.

With his latin flavoured productions and performances, Kriss-One is starting to become even more famous than he already was, attracting large crowds throughout the Netherlands.

The third hour will be filled by Pink Noise (Arthur & Dennis) – an excellent and talented DJ/Producer team from the Netherlands whom have shown what they’re worth for many times already. With their sound in the third hour of the show, it will be a tough job to remain seated on your chair – Dancing is allowed!

Soon there will be more information online regarding the concept “House as art with a capital letter” – including more details concerning the club nights, and eventual other actions. For this, keep an eye on www.D-wayne.nl .

It’s time to pay some attention boys & girls! A little while ago we introduced you to the boys of Phunk Shui by giving you the privilege of being te first to get a tast of their medicine. The massive bootleg pack they shared with us was a big hit.
In the mean time they haven’t treated theirselves on a holiday but got back straight back to work. After some youtube gossip  about what banger Roog (himself) was spinning here and there it came clear it was a track by Phunk Shui called “Senegal“  which is soon to be released on Roog & his brother Greg’s label Hardsoul Pressings as a track on an upcoming issue of the Dutch  Talent EP series!

This doesn’t mean we’ll leave you empty handed today. Another batch of well produced edit’s & booties is what you get to enjoy yourselves with in the meantime. All in 320 kbps quality and ready for some hands up moments on the floor and a mix with a summervibe is on it’s way.

Almost every weekend Jacob van Hage plays as a resident DJ in mega club Time-Out in Gemert (that’s Brabant :) near Eindhoven and Den Bosch. Jacob has his own area where every weekend he and his crew of technicians turn the club upside down with alot of special effects and offcorse the best dance music available. On the 17th of April The Star Beach ClubTour 2010 visits Time Out together with Norman Soares for a special Clubnight with a little Greek flavour to it. Well, not foodwise, but more in the atmosphere of the famous StarBeach!
